About the book: Robert Crumb, the chief cartoonist of the American counterculture, has been bringing the public psychedelic, satirical, and strange, sex-obsessed characters since the 1960s. This new collection, compiled from the artist's original sketchbooks, presents a compact Crumb feast with a focus on his golden creative period in the mid-1960s.

Biography: Robert Crumb began his career in the late 1960s with Snatch, Zap, and other underground comics. His characters Fritz the Cat, Mr. Natural, and The Snoid soon became icons, but it was the revelation of his sexual fantasies with voluptuous, thick-thighed women that made his work world-famous. The award-winning documentary Crumb (1994) also revolves around him. Today he lives in the South of France.
