Biography: Luigi Ficacci studied art history in Rome under Giulio Carlo Argan. For many years he was a curator at the Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica in Rome as well as Director General of the museums in Bologna and Lucca and taught at several Italian universities. Until 2021, he was Director of the Central Institute for Restoration in Rome. The focus of his work is the 17th and 18th centuries as well as contemporary Italian and European art.
