Biography: Marc Newson was born in Sydney, Australia, and studied jewelry and sculpture at the Sydney College of the Arts before moving to Tokyo and Paris. Today he lives and works in the United Kingdom and is one of the most successful designers in the world. He has established innovative partnerships with brands such as Louis Vuitton, Ferrari, and Apple and is the only designer represented by Gagosian. His work is featured in the collections of over 40 museums worldwide.
The author and editor Alison Castle studied philosophy, photography, and film at Columbia (B.A.) and NYU (M.A.). Her publications include The Stanley Kubrick Archives, Stanley Kubrick's Napoleon, and The Complete Jacques Tati. Her writing has appeared in the magazines Gagosian Quarterly, Vogue Italia, Vogue China, The Road Rat, and Chaos 69. She is also president of the Wendell Castle Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to the estate and archives of the late artist.
