About the book: Habsburg cult and coffee house literature, waltz rhythm and Schönberg, Opera Ball, Wiener Werkstätte and Viennese charm, Art Nouveau, MUMOK and Albertina, Qualtinger and Jelinek, St. Stephen's Cathedral, Prater, Naschmarkt and Strudlhofstiege, the banal, the epochal and the bizarre – Vienna is full of stories and visual spectacles. With hundreds of photographs from the last 175 years, this collection invites you on a walk through the history and the districts of the Austrian capital – from the Imperial and Royal glory and the Fin de Siècle through Cold War Vienna to the modern metropolis.
