Beautiful Murano ashtray, crafted in the 1950s. Mouth-blown glass in Alexandrite / Neodymium was masterfully pulled into shape and finished with enclosed air bubbles in the traditional Bullicante technique, which gives the piece depth and vibrant texture. The Alexandrite/Neodymium glass is particularly fascinating: it absorbs yellow light, so the color effect changes depending on the light. In daylight or normal lighting, the ashtray appears in lilac to pink tones; under cold light (e.g., fluorescent tubes), it appears in violet to light blue tones.
