About the book: This extensive collection of approx. 6000 logos from the years 1940 to 1980 shows how modernity changed graphic design. The clear visual concepts from the most diverse industries – from small media companies to retail giants, from airlines to galleries – led to the birth of corporate identity.

Biography: Jens Müller, born in 1982 in Koblenz, studied graphic design in Düsseldorf and has already won numerous national and international design awards. He is a professor of corporate design at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and a partner at the design studio Vista. As an author and editor, Müller investigates the history of graphic design and the development of corporate graphic communication.
R. Roger Remington is Vignelli Distinguished Professor of Design at the Vignelli Center for Design Studies at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York State, USA. In his seminars and publications, he focuses on the history of graphic design. His numerous books include Nine Pioneers in American Graphic Design and Design and Science: The Life and Work of Will Burtin. Remington has received the RIT Eisenhart Award for Outstanding Teaching and the Trustees Lifetime Achievement Award for Scholarship in Graphic Design.
