When it was originally designed in 1936, the Lyngby vase stood in stark contrast to the classic porcelain traditions of the time. The Lyngby vase, with its design inspired by the functional Bauhaus movement in Germany, is characterized by its clean lines and straightness. Due to high demand in flea markets and antique shops, a reproduction of the Lyngby vase began in 2011. Since then, the vase family has grown continuously. Originals with a hand-printed "Porcelænsfabrikken Danmark - Lyngby Porcelæn" monogram on the underside.
Lyngby is a Danish design company that revives traditional Scandinavian design elements. Their most famous design, the Lyngby vase, was first manufactured in 1936 and produced until 1969.
