About the book: A wonderful tribute to the David Bowie of the early seventies, who reinvented himself as the androgynous fictional character Ziggy Stardust, swept the world into a frenzy of polyamorous enthusiasm, and rose to become a celebrated cult star. The volume was compiled in 2015 with Bowie's collaboration by Mick Rock, his house photographer during the Ziggy years.
Biography: Mick Rock (1948–2021), born in London, became known as “the man who shot the 70s.” In addition to David Bowie, he also portrayed Lou Reed, Queen, Iggy Pop, Roxy Music, and Blondie. He also produced the videos for Bowie's songs “John, I’m Only Dancing,” “The Jean Genie,” “Space Oddity,” and “Life on Mars?”. Major exhibitions of his work have taken place in London, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, San Francisco, and Las Vegas.
