About the book: In 367 copper engravings, this magnificent collection captures the flowers of the palace garden of Eichstätt in Bavaria, which was among the most beautiful gardens of all time. The illustrations are arranged by season and represent – following the classification scheme in use today – plants from a total of 90 families, distributed across 340 genera. Besler's book is one of the most precious treasures of botanical literature.
