In an exhibition at the Leo Castelli Gallery in New York City in 1966, Andy Warhol covered the walls of the gallery space with a wallpaper featuring recurring screen-printed images of a cow's head in bright fluorescent colors.
Andy Warhol (1928-1987) is undoubtedly one of the most significant and well-known artists of the 20th century. His influence extends far beyond art and has lastingly shaped the style and lifestyle of our society. The 1960s were an extremely productive decade for Warhol. By taking images from pop culture, Warhol created many iconic paintings, including the Campbell’s Soup Cans and the Marilyns.
