About the Book:
This book transports you into the quirky, surprising, and often hilarious world of human competitions and rituals. From flinging frozen rats to bog snorkeling in Wales, from hot dog eating contests in the USA to Japanese baby-shrieking contests – Nigel Holmes brilliantly and humorously shows how creativity, playfulness, and ingenuity are expressed worldwide. With informative infographics, the book conveys a warm-hearted portrait of human culture that celebrates dares, endurance tests, and absurd fun in equal measure.
