About the book: The Austrian architect and publicist Adolf Loos, contemporary and friend of Karl Kraus, Oskar Kokoschka, Peter Altenberg, and Arnold Schönberg, had no liking for historicism, the still favored architectural style of his Viennese fellow citizens, and little enthusiasm for the rampant Art Nouveau. He championed an architecture of simplicity and clarity and created seminal works of modernism with his buildings. An introduction to his work.
