An extraordinary eye-catcher: Algue by Vitra are plastic parts that resemble plants and can be used as a curtain or a dense room divider. They were designed in 2004 by the Parisian designer duo Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. The individual parts can be linked together, creating a fabric-like structure that can be an interior design element or a decorative element. Through a variety of design options, a multitude of variations can be realized, from a transparent curtain to a densely woven room divider. Thus, with Algues by Vitra, one can create a light privacy screen in the bedroom or an impenetrable screening area in the middle of an open-plan office. The Algues are available in different colors and are each packed in a set of 25 pieces, which yield approximately one square meter of medium-density fabric. Depending on whether one links fewer or more together, a lighter or denser fabric is created. The Algues are made of plastic injection molding.
