The basic design was a three-legged bar stool with three crossbars, but since two of the crossbars melt away in the middle, the bars that were originally supposed to connect the legs horizontally become perpendicular instead, to support the seat and a leg. What remains is a single crossbar, which serves as a footrest.
This small structural change completely alters the direction and application of force, and becomes the main feature of the stool.
