About the book: Shoulder pads, teased hair, and bold colors: Embark on a journey through the decade of decadence with David Bailey, Britain's most renowned fashion and portrait photographer. Featuring dozens of photos from Vogue and Tatler, and icons like Jerry Hall, Tina Turner, and Yves Saint Laurent.
Biography: David Bailey (b. 1938) Born in London, he is considered one of the founders of contemporary photography and has created some of the most iconic portraits of the last five decades. Bailey's early work captured and defined the atmosphere of Swinging London in the 1960s: he turned a new generation of models like Jean Shrimpton and Penelope Tree into stars. Bailey understood how to channel the energy of new and informal street style in his work and create a new, casually cool style. Inspired by modernity, he gave his works a sense of movement and immediacy through the use of a very direct, cropped perspective. In addition to photography, Bailey also works in advertising, film, painting, and sculpture.
