Gabbeh carpets are made by Gashgai and Lori nomads in the province of Fars, around Shiraz. The carpets were originally used for sleeping, as they have a higher pile for warmth. The uneven, hand-spun, lanolin-rich wool gives Gabbeh a typical grainy surface texture. Many carpets have natural cream, brown, and gray tones. The red, yellow, green, and blue colors are made with plant dyes. Most Gabbehs are simple; if motifs are shown, they are stylized patterns from the everyday life of the nomads. Goats, camels, dogs, plants, and people are common motifs.

Siblings Vida and Amin combine their passion for craftsmanship and contemporary design to curate unique, handmade carpets.
