About the Book: Hiroshige was one of the last great artists in the ukiyo-e tradition, the genre of color woodblock printing that shaped the West's image of Japan. This introduction takes you through his world of blossoming cherry trees, beautiful women, and turbulent seas.

From 1984 to 1987, she studied at the University of Kyoto and received her doctorate in Heidelberg in 1989.
