The J-Chair is a piece of seating furniture that was developed as part of a design commission for the Jerke Museum in Recklinghausen. Its design is based on the architectural form of the museum building as well as the composition "Flat Construction – Fragmentation of a Black Rectangle" by the Polish artist Władysław Strzemiński. The chair is based on FiDU technology, which enables a light and stable metal structure. The seat is upholstered and can be made of metal or high-quality natural leather, as traditionally used for saddles. The leather processing is carried out in cooperation with experienced European saddleries. The J-Chair combines design clarity with functional properties and stands for the interplay of architecture, art, material expertise, and craftsmanship.
Zieta Studio is a design studio that shapes metal in an innovative way. Using its proprietary FiDU technology, the team "inflates" flat metal parts, creating lightweight, stable, and unique objects. Art, technology, and material research are closely intertwined in this process. The studio emphasizes sustainable work, uses durable metals, and produces many of its objects from a single material. This results in furniture and sculptures that are modern, characterful, and functional all at once.
Acceptable quality. There is visible paint chipping on the edge of the seat.
