The Jumbo coffee table was designed by Gae Aulenti and produced by the American manufacturer Knoll International in 1965. Made of red marble. This coffee table fits in with any decor.
Gaetana "Gae" Aulenti (December 4, 1927 - October 31, 2012) was an Italian architect and designer who was active in the fields of furniture design, graphics, stage design, lighting, exhibition design, and interior design. She was known for her contributions to the design of major museums such as the Musée d'Orsay in Paris (in collaboration with ACT Architecture), the Centre Pompidou Gallery of Contemporary Art in Paris, the restoration of the Palazzo Grassi in Venice, and the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco (in collaboration with HOK Architects). Gaines is one of the few female architects and designers who gained significance in the Italian post-war period, a time when Italian designers sought meaningful connections to production principles and wanted to influence culture far beyond Italy. This avant-garde design movement produced a completely new kind of architecture and design, full of imaginary utopias that left the standardization of the past behind. Aulenti's involvement in the Milanese design scene of the 1950s and 1960s made her an architect valued for her analytical skills in dealing with the complexity of the big city, regardless of the medium. His conceptual development can be traced in the design magazine Casabella, with which he regularly collaborates. His contemporaries were Cini Boeri, Vittorio Gregotti, Franca Helg, Giancarlo de Carlo, Aldo Rossi, and Lella Vignelli.
