The Kilim originates from the region around Shiraz in southwestern Iran and is made by the Turkish-speaking Gashgai nomads living there. It is a double-sided, flat-woven wool rug made using traditional slit-weave technique, where characteristic slits are created in the fabric by changing colors. The pattern shows classic Gashgai motifs such as rhombuses, squares, stripes, as well as Caucasian star motifs, and combines traditional color tones such as blue, yellow, red, green, and beige, with the green base tone being harmoniously complemented by a beige border.
