This kilim rug is inspired by the traditional patterns of the Gashgai – a Turkish-speaking nomadic population from the region around Shiraz in southwestern Iran. Kilims are flat-woven wool rugs that can be used on both sides. Characteristic is the so-called slit tapestry, where small slits form at color boundaries. Typical for these rugs are geometric patterns such as rhombuses, squares, stripes, and stylized star motifs. The color scheme often includes tones such as blue, yellow, red, green, and beige.
