The Kilims originates from the Gashgai, Turkish-speaking nomadic tribes from the region around Shiraz in southwestern Iran. It is a flat-woven wool carpet that can be used on both sides and is characterized by the typical slit weave, in which fine slits appear at the color changes. The design shows classic Gashgai motifs such as rhombuses, squares, stripes, as well as Caucasian star motifs and is characterized by a warm, traditional color scheme.
