This Kelim originates from the traditional environment of the Gashgai, a Turkish-speaking nomadic community from the region around Shiraz in southwestern Iran. Characteristic of these rugs is the flat kilim weave, which can be used on both sides and creates small weaving slits through color changes. The patterns show typical Gashgai elements such as rhombuses, squares, stripes, and Caucasian star shapes. Color-wise, classic natural tones such as blue, yellow, red, green, and beige dominate, giving the rug its vibrant and authentic appeal.
