This Kilim comes from the traditional environment of the Gashgai, a Turkish-speaking nomadic community from the region around Shiraz in southwestern Iran. The Kilims from these areas are known for their flat slit weave, in which characteristic weaving slits are created by color changes. Typical patterns include rhombuses, squares, stripes, and Caucasian star motifs. The color design also follows classical examples and combines strong natural tones such as blue, yellow, red, green, and beige, giving the carpet its vibrant and authentic effect.
