Senneh is the old name for the modern city of Sanandaj. The carpets, which come from the city and from nomads or farmers from the surrounding region, are known as Senneh carpets. These double-sided kilims have the typical kilim slit weave. They have small patterns with designs such as bouquets of roses and tree or flower motifs in rows. Traditional Mahi motifs can also occur, as can a large central field, often with a rhombus in different colors.
