About the book: Uncaged and with a patented waterproof 1200-watt studio-quality lighting system, Michael Muller photographs sharks in the oceans of the world at extremely close range and with the same precision as in Hollywood. From tiger sharks in Fiji to great hammerheads in the Bahamas, this book showcases a selection of his most spectacular underwater images, including what is believed to be the first ever photograph of a great white shark's nocturnal leap.
Biography: From Los Angeles, photographer Michael Muller travels the world for publications like Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, The New York Times Magazine, and Harper's Bazaar, photographing celebrities, rock stars, motorcycle gangs, superheroes, and sports icons. In 2007, he took his camera underwater and began photographing sharks as they had never been seen before.
Arty Nelson writes essays for monographs and exhibition catalogs of artists such as Wes Lang, Chris Johanson, Ed Templeton, or the highly acclaimed traveling exhibition Beautiful Losers.
