About the book: Skillful connection of interior and exterior meets clear modernism: The harmonious style of the Austro-American Richard Neutra, a master of post-war architecture, seemingly effortlessly combined nature and technology. This monograph provides an overview of his complete works – nearly 300 private homes, schools, and public buildings, presented through over 1,000 photos, including those by photographer Julius Shulman.

Biography: Barbara Lamprecht is an author, lecturer on architectural history, and practicing architect with a focus on modernism, sustainability, and small spaces. She writes for specialist magazines such as Dwell, The Architectural Review, and Architectural Record.

Julius Shulman shaped the perception of 20th-century Californian architecture with iconic photographs of buildings by Frank Lloyd Wright, Pierre Koenig, Charles Eames, and Richard Neutra, among others. His works show not only the architectural idea but also the cultural and human context of the buildings and made architectural photography an independent art form.

Peter Gössel heads an agency for museum and exhibition design and has published monographs for TASCHEN on Shulman, R. M. Schindler, John Lautner, and Richard Neutra, as well as other architecture titles in the Small Series.
