About the book: This volume presents the complete catalogue of etchings by Giovanni Battista Piranesi, the 18th-century engraver famous for his architectural impressions of Rome and his imaginative prison constructions. Discover the obsession with detail and sophisticated imagination that shaped Europe's image of Italy and inspired generations of artists, designers, and filmmakers to extraordinary ideas – such as, not least, the moving staircases in Hogwarts.
