Rizbaf are particularly fine Gabbeh carpets with an increased knot density. These handmade high-pile carpets come from the Gashghai and Lori nomads. Hand-spun wool is often used for their production, which gives the carpet a lively and coarse surface texture. At the same time, the surface is soft and comfortable, ideal for rooms where you like to move barefoot. Rizbaf carpets are available not only in natural, monochrome shades but also in colorful and imaginative designs. Stylized patterns from the everyday life of the nomads, depicting animals, plants, or landscapes, as well as geometric motifs, are typical.

The siblings Vida and Amin combine their passion for craftsmanship and contemporary design to curate unique, handmade carpets. The pieces are knotted and woven by talented knotters, some of whom still live as nomads and produce them in traditional handwork on wooden looms. Their knowledge, their experience and their individual style flow into each piece. Each carpet is made from natural vintage materials and yarn, authentic, timeless and tells its own story. At COCOLI you will find handmade unique pieces from Rugtales – designed with attention to detail and created to enrich spaces.
