This handmade Rizbaf Gabbeh rug comes from the Fars province around Shiraz and is traditionally crafted by Gashgai and Lori nomads. Rizbaf are particularly fine Gabbeh rugs with a higher knot density, giving them a detailed and elegant appearance. The use of hand-spun, lanolin-rich wool creates a lively, slightly coarse surface texture and makes the rug soft and comfortable at the same time – ideal for rooms where you like to walk barefoot. The colors are created using natural plant dyes and range from classic natural tones to strong, colorful designs. Stylized patterns from the everyday life of the nomads are typical, such as animals, plants, or geometric concepts.
