Rizbaf are particularly fine Gabbeh carpets with an increased knot density. They are traditionally handmade by the Gashghai and Lori nomads. Hand-spun wool is often used, which gives the carpet a lively and slightly coarse texture. At the same time, the surface is pleasantly soft and provides a cozy feeling – ideal for rooms where you like to move around barefoot. Rizbaf carpets are available not only in natural, monochrome shades but also in colorful and imaginative designs. Typical patterns incorporate elements from the daily life of the nomads, such as animals, plants, or landscapes, and are often combined with geometric shapes.
