About the Book: This book presents Steve Schapiro's best photos from all three parts of Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather. In addition to supplementary essays and interviews about the entire trilogy, this book contains more than 300 black-and-white and color photos. Schapiro's images take us behind the scenes of this epic and legendary gangster saga.
Biography: Steve Schapiro was a renowned photojournalist whose work graced the covers of Vanity Fair, Time, Sports Illustrated, Life, Look, Paris Match, and People, and is held in numerous museum collections. He has published his work in several books, including American Edge, Schapiro's Heroes, The Godfather Family Album, Taxi Driver, Then and Now, Bowie, and most recently Misericordia. Many of his iconic images have been used for posters and advertising campaigns for famous Hollywood films such as Midnight Cowboy, Taxi Driver, The Way We Were, and The Godfather Part III. He passed away in 2022.
Film historian Paul Duncan has published numerous titles with TASCHEN, including The Star Wars Archives, The James Bond Archives, The Charlie Chaplin Archives, The Godfather Family Album, Taxi Driver, Film Noir, and Horror Cinema, as well as various works on directors, film genres, and film stars.
