The Sumak Sirdjan is a rare type of Kilim. They are known for having a flat-woven front, typical for Kilim, and the threads on the back that are not cut off. The carpets are known for their unique processing, as it comes very close to embroidery. In addition to geometric patterns and delicate horizontal and diagonal lines, Caucasian elements are often found in these carpets. Besides wool, the designer also uses silk for these carpets.
Siblings Vida and Amin combine their passion for craftsmanship and contemporary design to curate unique, handmade carpets. The pieces are knotted and woven by talented weavers, some of whom still live as nomads and use traditional handcrafting techniques on wooden looms. Their knowledge, experience, and individual style are incorporated into every piece. Each rug is made from natural vintage materials and yarn, authentic, timeless, and telling its own unique story. At COCOLI, you will find handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces from Rugtales—designed with attention to detail and created to enrich any space.
A handmade unique piece – designed and made by experienced weavers, who combine centuries-old tradition with personal style. Made from sustainable, natural materials.
