About the Book: From the "science fiction expressionism" of his early work to the extreme limits of abstraction in his seemingly black N-paintings, Butzer reveals himself as an ingenious master of color, who sees a new beginning in each of his paintings. This edition presents the future and origins of André Butzer's painting.
Biography: André Butzer was born in Stuttgart in 1973. For over 25 years, he has painted his way through the extremes of the 20th century, traversing art, politics, and pop culture. For him, paintings are "localizations of the utmost distress and hope," and precisely because of this, "closest to the happiness and help that we need." After several years in California, he now lives in the southwest of Berlin and is one of the most internationally recognized painters of his generation.
