About the Book: This volume presents the complete works of the artist couple who created a unique genre and achieved worldwide fame with their temporary artworks and spectacular interventions in public spaces. In addition to the famous monumental projects such as the Running Fence in California, the Surrounded Islands in Miami, the Wrapped Reichstag, and the most recent work, the Floating Piers on Lake Iseo, lesser-known early works are also presented.

Biography: Christo and Jeanne-Claude worked together from 1961 and lived in New York City from 1964. Jeanne-Claude died in 2009, Christo in 2020. Their most significant projects include Wrapped Coast, Valley Curtain, Running Fence, Surrounded Islands, The Pont Neuf Wrapped, The Umbrellas, Wrapped Reichstag, Wrapped Trees, The Gates, The Floating Piers, The London Mastaba, and L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped.

Wolfgang Volz has worked with Christo and Jeanne-Claude since 1971, serving as project manager for, among others, Wrapped Reichstag and Wrapped Trees, and directing The Wall – 13,000 Oil Barrels and Big Air Package. As their exclusive photographer, he documented their works in numerous books and over 300 exhibitions worldwide.

Jacob Baal-Teshuva (1929–2022) was an author, art critic, and curator. He studied in Jerusalem and New York and published works on artists such as Marc Chagall, Alexander Calder, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, as well as Christo and Jeanne-Claude.
