This Kilim originates from the Gashgai, Turkic-speaking nomadic tribes from the region around Shiraz in southwestern Iran. Kilims are double-sided, flat-woven wool carpets with a typical slit weave, where the colors change at the slits. The pattern displays classic Gashgai motifs such as rhombuses, squares, stripes, and Caucasian star patterns. The color palette includes blue, yellow, red, green, and beige.
