This kilim rug originates from the Gashgai, Turkish-speaking nomadic tribes from the region around Shiraz in southwestern Iran. Kilims are double-sided, flat-woven wool rugs with a typical slit tapestry technique, where the colors change at the slits. The design features classic Gashgai motifs such as rhombuses, squares, stripes, and Caucasian star patterns. The color palette includes blue, yellow, red, green, and beige.
