Flat-woven carpets have been woven in houses for a long time and are available throughout Iran. Some of them are Kilim, flat-woven wool carpets with the typical Kilim slit. Others are Sumak, flat-woven carpets with an embroidered appearance on the front and loose ends on the back. Originally, Kilims and Sumaks were multifunctional, used in front of doors, to cover camels or horses, or as tent roofs, to cover dining tables, or to sleep on. These carpets were well maintained or refurbished.

The siblings Vida and Amin combine their passion for craftsmanship and contemporary design to curate unique, handmade carpets. The pieces are knotted and woven by talented knotters, some of whom still live as nomads and produce them in traditional handwork on wooden looms. Their knowledge, their experience and their individual style flow into each piece. Each carpet is made from natural vintage materials and yarn, authentic, timeless and tells its own story. At COCOLI you will find handmade unique pieces from Rugtales β designed with attention to detail and created to enrich spaces.
A handmade unique piece β designed and crafted by experienced weavers who combine centuries-old tradition with personal style. Made from sustainable, natural materials.
