Biography: Frank Zöllner wrote his dissertation on an ancient motif in the art and architectural theory of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance (1987) and his post-doctoral thesis on Leonardo da Vinci's studies of movement (published 2010). He has authored numerous publications on Renaissance art and art theory, as well as on 20th-century art. Since 1996, he has been Professor of Medieval and Early Modern Art History at the University of Leipzig. For TASCHEN, he has published XL monographs on Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. Johannes Nathan studied art history at New York University and the Courtauld Institute of Art in London. In 1995, he completed his doctorate there on Leonardo da Vinci's working methods. He is the author of numerous art historical studies and, in addition to his work as Director of Nathan Fine Art (Berlin/Zurich), is regularly involved in art historical teaching (currently at the TU Berlin).
