The PLOPP stool is a characteristic design object from Zieta Studios and exemplifies the innovative connection of design and technology. Developed by Oskar ZiΔta, the stool is based on FiDU technology, where two ultra-thin metal sheets are welded together and then inflated under high pressure. This process transforms a flat 2.5D structure into a three-dimensional object and enables a unique shaping with minimal material usage. PLOPP has received multiple international awards. In addition to its iconic aesthetic, the stool impresses with its sustainability, durability, and lightness. It is suitable both as a functional seat and as a design element in modern interiors.
Technical Details:
Zieta Studio is a design studio that shapes metal in an innovative way. Using its proprietary FiDU technology, the team "inflates" flat metal parts, creating lightweight, stable, and unique objects. Art, technology, and material research are closely intertwined in this process. The studio emphasizes sustainable work, uses durable metals, and produces many of its objects from a single material. This results in furniture and sculptures that are modern, characterful, and functional all at once.
Good quality. During the heating process, thermal coloring, different changes occur in the material on the lower inside of the leg and there are some scratches on the seat. Here there is a discoloration on the leg, but it does not bring about such a bad visual effect. The leg design has been changed.
