Biography: Ralph Gibson began photographing during his service in the US Navy in the 1950s, later assisting Dorothea Lange and Robert Frank before opening his own studio in New York. Gibson received grants from the NEA and the Guggenheim Foundation and was appointed Commandeur de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2002.
Eric Fischl is an internationally renowned figurative painter and sculptor. He completed his training in Arizona and California and lives with his wife, painter April Gornik, in the New York area.
