Rizbaf are fine Gabbeh carpets with a higher knot density. These high-pile carpets are handcrafted by the Gashghai and Lori nomads. Rizbaf are often knotted from hand-spun wool. Due to this material, they have a lively and coarse surface texture. At the same time, the surface is soft and cozy, ideal for rooms where you like to move barefoot. Rizbaf are not only knotted in monochrome natural colors, but especially in colorful and imaginative designs. Stylized patterns from the everyday life of the nomads, showing animals, plants or entire landscapes, are found as well as geometric concepts.
