The TAFLA mirrors from Zieta Studio are created using the innovative FiDU technology, where stainless steel is freely deformed under internal pressure. The result is objects of great strength and subtle structure – monomaterial and unique in expression.
The TAFLA C series interprets the water drop in an avant-garde way. Their striking contours and irregular edges make each piece a unique item. TAFLA C is not just a mirror, but also a sculptural narrative about reflections – individually or arranged in constellations.
The production is based on Oskar Zięta's research into metal deformation. Two thin, laser-cut stainless steel plates are precisely welded and then inflated with compressed air. Through this volumetric expansion, TAFLA C acquires its final three-dimensional form with characteristic deformations at the edges.
Technical Details
Zieta Studio is a design studio that shapes metal in an innovative way. Using its proprietary FiDU technology, the team "inflates" flat metal parts, creating lightweight, stable, and unique objects. Art, technology, and material research are closely intertwined in this process. The studio emphasizes sustainable work, uses durable metals, and produces many of its objects from a single material. This results in furniture and sculptures that are modern, characterful, and functional all at once.
Good quality. There are small scratch-material cracks on the mirror surface very laterally, which however are not noticeable.
