Biography: Julia Voss received her doctorate on visual forms of representation in the evolutionary theory of Charles Darwin. Until 2017, she headed the art department of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and was head of the Feuilleton. She is an honorary professor at Leuphana University Lüneburg. Her research interests include the history of abstraction, restitution and provenance, as well as the connections between evolutionary theory and culture. Rainer Willmann is a professor of zoology at the University of Göttingen and director of the Zoological Museum there. His main scientific interests lie in the fields of phylogenetic research and evolution, as well as in biodiversity research and its history. He is a co-founder of the Center for Biodiversity Research and Ecology at the University of Göttingen.
