About the book: Eugène Atget, the flâneur photographer and strolling photographer, documented a Paris beyond the sights at the beginning of the 20th century. The at times surreal-seeming images, which he took on his urban archaeological explorations with an antique box camera, made him an idol of photographers such as Berenice Abbott, Man Ray, Walker Evans, and many others.
