About the Book: From Prairie Houses to skyscrapers and the Guggenheim Museum – Frank Lloyd Wright is still considered one of the greatest pioneers in the history of architecture. Sketches, plans, and photographs document all of Wright's major works and celebrate his philosophy of organic architecture, his innovative use of industrial materials, and his vision of a new kind of American living.
Biography: Bruce Brooks Pfeiffer (1930–2017) studied under Frank Lloyd Wright at his architecture school in Taliesin, until he attended the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1958, he returned to Taliesin and continued his studies under Wright until his death in 1959. He founded the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation Archives, where he cataloged the collections of Wright's drawings, manuscripts, letters, and other documents. He has authored numerous publications on Wright's life and work.
Peter Gössel runs an agency for museum and exhibition design. For TASCHEN, he has edited monographs on Julius Shulman, R. M. Schindler, John Lautner, and Richard Neutra, as well as several architecture titles in the Basic Art Series.
