About the book: A wonderful homage to David Bowie of the early seventies, who reinvented himself as the androgynous art figure Ziggy Stardust, swept the world into a whirlwind of polyamorous enthusiasm and rose to celebrated cult status. The volume was compiled in 2015, with Bowie's involvement, by Mick Rock, his house photographer of the Ziggy years.
Biography: Mick Rock (1948–2021), born in London, became known as "the man who photographed the 70s." In addition to David Bowie, he also portrayed Lou Reed, Queen, Iggy Pop, Roxy Music, and Blondie. He also produced the videos for Bowie's songs "John, I’m Only Dancing," "The Jean Genie," "Space Oddity," and "Life on Mars?". Important exhibitions of his works took place in London, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, San Francisco, and Las Vegas.
