Biographie: Renzo Piano, born 1937, studied at the University of Florence and the Polytechnic Institute of Milan. He received the RIBA Gold Medal in 1989 and the Pritzker Prize in 1998. His best-known projects include the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, The Shard in London, and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. His main offices are in his hometown of Genoa and in Paris.
Philip Jodidio studied art history and economics at Harvard and was editor-in-chief of the French art magazine Connaissance des Arts for over two decades. His publications with TASCHEN include the series Homes for Our Time and monographs on numerous important architects, including Norman Foster, Tadao Ando, Renzo Piano, Jean Nouvel, and Zaha Hadid.
