Biography: Armistead Maupin began his fictional city stories in the San Francisco Chronicle in 1976, which were later published as a six-volume novel series; three volumes served as the basis for a television series. He lives in San Francisco.

Camille Anna Paglia is the author of six books, including *Sexual Personae*, and a professor of humanities and media at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

Edward Lucie-Smith (1933, Kingston) has published over 100 books, including on eroticism in art and Latin American art, and lives in London.

John Waters (1946, Baltimore) made his first film in 1964 and is known for works such as *Pink Flamingos* and *Hairspray*; he lives in Baltimore.

Todd Oldham heads a design firm for film, photography, and furniture design and lives in New York City and Eastern Pennsylvania.

Dian Hanson is an editor and author at TASCHEN with over 50 books, including *The Art of Pin-up*, *Masterpieces of Fantasy Art*, and *The Fantastic Worlds of Frank Frazetta*.
