The COCOLI curation team has been out and about to discover the most beautiful interior trends for 2026. After our blog post Interior Trends 2025 became the most-read article last year, we’re excited to share our collected impressions with you, gathered from conversations with our brands as well as from interior and furniture fairs. One thing we can already say: 2026 is all about authenticity.

Looking back over the past 26 years, energetic and sometimes dramatic Colors of the Year have dominated; only in the last three years have we seen a shift toward calmer tones with a vintage feel. This year’s Pantone Color of the Year, Cloud Dancer, seems to express a collective longing for simplicity and calm — a sentiment we also see reflected in the interior trends for 2026.

Instead of “Instagrammable” spaces, 2026 places authenticity in living spaces at the center. We’re moving away from perfectionism and self-optimization and turning back to what truly matters: Our homes should tell the personal stories of the people who live in them with all their experiences, souvenirs, and everything that naturally accumulates over the course of a real, authentic life. It doesn’t need to look perfect or sterile, because this is not a year of extremes: neither total minimalism nor maximalism will take center stage.

Pantone 2026: “Cloud Dancer” as a Calm Base 

Pantone’s Color of the Year 2026 is “Cloud Dancer”, a soft off-white that conveys calm, clarity, and lightness. It serves as a neutral canvas where furniture, colors, and materials can shine. Large surfaces such as walls, sofas, or rugs in Cloud Dancer brighten spaces and pair perfectly with natural textures, darker woods, and warm accent tones.

Sustainability becomes the default option 

What excites us most is that sustainability in 2026 is understood as a prerequisite for good design — no longer an exception or a “nice to have.” Fast furniture is out. Instead, the conscious choice of locally produced pieces, vintage objects, and the growing interest in B-ware furniture as well as refurbished products clearly point toward more mindful decisions and long-lasting design.



Vintage & Handmade 

Nostalgia is the key word when it comes to style and interior trends, with a renewed look back at the 1990s and early 2000s. Interior trends for 2026 place a strong focus on craftsmanship and the rediscovery of materials such as Viennese cane, darker woods, and velvet.

Pinterest trends show that spaces are embracing more personality, storytelling, and individuality: 

• Neo Deco: Modern Art Deco with geometric shapes, brass accents, and luxurious materials

• Afrohemian Decor: Craftsmanship, natural textures, and bold colors 

• Extra Celestial: Futuristic, iridescent surfaces for depth and surprise 

These trends emphasize individuality, creativity, and mindful use of color and material.

2026 is about spaces you feel and experience. Colors and materials tell stories, furniture has character, and craftsmanship and quality are central. Minimalism becomes warm and lively, while colors and textures set the mood. Mindful design creates homes that combine style, personality, and sustainability.
